YOGA
“Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.” –The Bhagavad Gita
Yoga is not about touching your toes, it’s about what happens on the way there. For me, yoga is really the practice of connecting with ourselves as well as connecting with something greater than ourselves. It’s more than asana, yoga is about discovering our true selves – the light and love within. Yoga offers up a way for us to find joy in each and every moment. It reminds us that everything is connected and nothing is permanent, so we must live, love, dance, breathe and BE in the moment, with awareness.
My teaching style in Classical Hatha, Hatha flow and Yin explores this process of connection and transformation to help students discover their own inner wisdom and sense of peace. as well as the therapeutic benefits of a balanced practice.
Yoga Is A Way Of Life
How much of your life is spent caught up in negative thoughts, or simply unaware of most of what goes on around you? How can we bring more kindness and love into our lives? How do we reconnect with our bodies and minds and hearts and learn to find peace and joy in each and every moment?
Yoga and meditation help us become more aware. They offer a way back to the light, to our true nature. Beyond the asana, yoga offers us an opportunity to quiet the mind, to move into stillness, to find balance, to accept, to connect, to transform, to find peace, love and joy, to live, to BE…
How can you embrace the lifestyle?
Meditation
“Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.” – Buddha
Despite any misconceptions about meditation, the practice itself is simple. We come back to the present moment, again and again, using the breath as a point of focus. Simple. Not necessarily easy, but simple. By becoming more aware of our moment to moment experiences, we discover the breadth of our sensations, thoughts and emotions, and in that we hold the key to discovering the joy that is always available to us in each moment. We learn how to find balance and peace, how to cultivate love towards ourselves and others. We learn how to shine.
I teach meditation, but more importantly I have been a dedicated practitioner for many years. I offer meditation guidance particularly based on traditional Insight Meditation (vipassana), Mindfulness, and Metta, as well as the non-denominational approach of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).
